Securitas North America and Kaplan University Announce a New Scholarship Opportunity

Thursday, November 13, 2014

Securitas North America and Kaplan University are excited to announce a scholarship opportunity to honor the many veterans and current members of the military within the Securitas family.

This program is intended to help qualified employees pursue a degree program designed to enhance their job skills in their current positions or prepare them for future positions within Securitas.

“Through our partnership with Kaplan University, we are emphasizing our commitment to the men and women in our organization who have served our country,” said Andre Walker, vice president of Training for Securitas North America.

“Given the industry in which we work, we see a larger than average population of prior military service members.  We feel strongly about providing them with valuable educational opportunities.”

The scholarship covers the full tuition and fees for an online bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree at Kaplan University. The application process poses a series of questions to gauge applicants’ motivation for going back to school, how earning a degree will help with their long-term career plans, and why they feel they should be selected.  The scholarship recipient will be announced in March 2015.

Kaplan University’s Senior Vice President of Military Affairs, Scott A. Kilgore, commented, “Securitas has been a long-time supporter of military families and Kaplan University is proud to help them honor them and their veteran employees to achieve their educational goals through this scholarship program.”
