A non-profit generic drug company located in Virginia was created to ensure consumers have access to a reliable supply of quality, affordable essential medication. As a cutting-edge pharmaceutical manufacturer, their leadership team put an emphasis on their security protocols and needed to find a forward-thinking security partner who could not only provide professional officers but work with them to design a custom technology program approved by the pharmaceutical board. Their challenges included a looming deadline, an incompatible system, no regulation on video retention, and rigorous cyber security guidelines. Following an initial meeting, the local teamdiscussed how Securitas could provide a tailored program and have it installed before their official inspection.
Solutions
The integrated solutions program included boots on the ground officers, cameras, access control, and intrusion was presented. The existing 20+ camera system was relocated to leverage their previous investment and replaced with intelligent video analytic-capable cameras designed to perform remote guarding services. The video system was unified with access control for a seamless experience for the security team and officers on-site. Securitas Officers began using the Vision App, a Guard management tool to document. The once siloed control room was moved to the Guard Office, and additional projects such as adding intrusion monitoring to a nearby warehouse, vault cameras, and sirens on IT closets have been awarded to round out the program.
Benefits and Results
The client passed the board inspection in the shortened turn-around time and has been thrilled with the work Securitas has provided. Remote Guarding has become a force multiplier in coverage and investigations after-hours. This was an extremely successful collaboration between the experienced Technology team and the local Guarding managers. The happy client has asked to have a similar technology program installed at a facility opening later this year.
