      Strengthening Pharmaceutical Logistics Security With RGWATCH and Remote Guarding Across Nine Sites

Through the deployment of RGWATCH—an integrated surveillance and Remote Guarding system—paired with optimized mobile patrols, Securitas delivered a scalable, technology-driven security program that enhanced visibility, reduced operational costs, and strengthened protection across nine high-risk logistics locations.

      Client Overview

      A leading pharmaceutical logistics company specializing in transporting and storing high-value inventory faced significant security challenges. The sensitive nature of their products, combined with increasing concerns about vagrants and unauthorized individuals, necessitated a cost-effective alternative to traditional guarding to address these issues. 

      Solutions

      To confront the security challenges, Securitas implemented Mobile and RGWATCH solutions across nine Canadian locations. RGWatch is an out of the box surveillance system with cameras, talk-down speakers connected back to the Securitas Operation Center where remote officers interact in real-time. Following a break-in attempt at a British Columbia site, a successful trial of RGWATCH demonstrated its effectiveness in real-time detection and rapid response, leading to its widespread deployment. RGWATCH enhanced the existing system in place, enabling a reduction in mobile patrols from two to one per night, improving costs. The dynamic solution, featuring video verification, remote and mobile guarding, provided a more comprehensive security approach.

      Benefits and Results

      The new security solution yielded substantial benefits, reducing annual costs by $7,000 per site while providing a comprehensive security solution featuring verified alarm responses and efficient remote monitoring. RGWATCH integration decreased the need for frequent mobile patrols, resulting in further cost savings and improved operational efficiency. Importantly, the system effectively mitigated issues with vagrants and individuals scoping the sites, with RGWATCH successfully capturing multiple trespassing incidents, demonstrating its enhanced surveillance and response capabilities.
