Securitas in the US consists of five geographic regions: Central Atlantic, Northeast, Pacific, North Central, and South. Each region supports local branches that, in turn, provide continuous guidance, training, and engagement with our security officers in the field and the clients they protect. With over 400 branch locations nationwide, we add value by being closer to client facilities and our security officers.

Pinkerton's National Detective Agency and Securitas' forerunner is established

Securitas is created in Helsingborg, Sweden
Erik Philip Sörensen acquires Hälsingborgs Nattvakt in Helsingborg, Sweden.
Sörensen acquires additional security companies in Southern Sweden and combines all companies together to form Förenade Svenska Vakt AB.
Securitas is established in the USA after acquiring Pinkerton
Securitas arrives in the US in 1999 by acquiring Pinkerton – the number one security company in the U.S. In 2000, Securitas acquires Burns, the second largest US security company. Several regional companies are acquired in the US. Securitas becomes the largest player in the US market with a 20 percent market share.
Securitas Integrated Guarding launches
Security Services USA reports positive organic growth and a stable margin development. US guarding operations undergo extensive structural work resulting in a clearer organization, a single brand, and more efficient methodologies. Securitas’ strategy for the future is launched in August, with three key elements: a higher degree of specialization in service offering driven by more client segmentation; expansion of the Mobile and Monitoring operations; and an increased global presence.
Securitas Remote Guarding becomes a core security service
Securitas forms a team of design engineers which become the Solutions Support Team (SST).
The Securitas Operations Center (SOC) is established, supporting numerous critical functions.
Securitas’ Operation Center (SOC) is where our people, technology, and processes converge to offer you remote services, 24/7 monitoring of video and alarm systems, ensuring swift and effective responses to potential threats. Securitas Electronic Security (SES) is acquired.
Securitas Mobile becomes the largest mobile patrol provider in North America
