Our affiliate Pinkerton was Founded in 1850. Allan Pinkerton, the “original private eye,” founded Pinkerton’s National Detective Agency in Chicago
Early & Mid-1900's
Securitas was founded in 1934 when Erik Philip-Sörensen traveled to Helsingborg, Sweden to set up a small night-watch business. He believed that staying safe is one of the most basic human needs.
Securitas acquired Pinkerton.
Securitas acquired Burns International which was founded in 1909, as the William J. Burns Detective Agency.
All of the U.S. guarding operations of Securitas AB united under the single name of Securitas Security Services USA, Inc.
Securitas acquired the electronic assets of Diebold. Diebold's North American Electronic Security business is the third largest commercial electronic provider in North America. This team is now fully united with us under the name Securitas Electronic Security.
Securitas acquires Kratos' Public Safety & Security division which aligns well with Securitas Electronic Security's strategic focus.
