Security Officer Basic Training Levels

Level One:

Candidates must successfully complete our thorough screening process as a condition of being hired. Security Officer Introduction training includes: 

Role of Security Officer Legal Powers & Limitations Emergency Situations
Communications & Public Relations Access Control Diversity & Policies Against Sexual Harassment
Bloodborne Pathogens Values and Ethics Code Terrorism Threat Awareness & Response
Hazardous Communications The Globally Harmonized System of Classification & Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) State Licensing (as applicable)

Level Two:

Focuses on career development and includes site-specific training, Securitas USA’s premier Advanced Certification Training (ACT) Program and specialized industry-specific programs. Site specific training includes First Aid, CPR/AED, and Fire Guard. Those officers required to operate a vehicle on the job complete Securitas USA’s Safe Driving Program.

ACT Program topics include:

Professional Image & Teamwork Report Writing Workplace Violence
Customer Service Fire Safety Crowd Control
Post Orders Access Control Bomb Threats
Limits to Authority Patrol Techniques Substance Abuse
Protection & Observation Perimeter Control Emergency Response

Level Three:

Offers rigorous, specialized training for those who seek continued development beyond Level Two. Working with their managers to select appropriate courses, officers may choose advanced study in topics such as homeland security, workplace violence, risk assessment, emergency management and more.
